The 2024 Competition is open to all poets both based in the UK and internationally.

Poems must be previously unpublished and be on any subject. Poems should be in English and not exceed 40 lines of text, no minimum. Titles, epigraphs, dedications and blank lines are not included in the line count.

Entries from writers with Devon postcodes will automatically and additionally be entered for the Graham Burchell Award for Devon Poets.

In the Open Poetry Competition, there will be three prizes of £600 (1st), £300 (2nd), and £200 (3rd). An additional £25 will be awarded to the Top 3 commended poems.

The Graham Burchell Award will be awarded only to Devon residents, and there will be three prizes of £200 (1st), £100 (2nd), and £50 (3rd). An additional £25 will be awarded to the Top 3 commended poems.
