The Charles Causley Trust 2024 Young People's Poetry Competition

The 2024 Charles Causley Young People's Poetry Competition is open for entries. In celebration of the work by the Cornish poet, who wrote for both adults and young people, this competition invites younger poets to show off their craft.

A lot of Causley's inspiration came from folklore and myths, so this years theme is 'Magic'. Young poets, aged 5-18 from anywhere in the UK are invited to submit a poem in response to the theme of no more than 40 lines, as an individual, group or school.

Poems will be judged by Rachel Piercey and a panel of poetry judges with prizes awarded for 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and Highly Commended places in each category.
