We're celebrating National Poetry Day, a UK-wide celebration of poetry, which takes place on the 6th of October 2022. This year’s theme is The Environment.

You can join in with the National Poetry Library wherever you live by:

Sending us your Instapoems on the theme of the environment. Tag us into your insta poems on this theme using #instapoetrylib. We will make our favourite a Poem of the Day on our website www.nationalpoetrylibrary.org.uk and the chosen poet will receive an NPL bag of goodies including a copy of Instagram Poetry for Every Day.

Share with us your favourite ecopoems on Twitter and we'll make a prize draw of all participants for a chance to win a bag of NPL merch.

Come along to the National Poetry Library on the 6th October between 12-8pm to take part in our treasure hunt and collaborative poem. More poetry goodies to be won!

We're also working with the Forward Foundation, the RSPB and the three other UK poetry libraries – Scottish, Northern, and Manchester – we’ll stage a social media ‘takeover’ with poetry & environment related content. Look out for our Tweets @natpoetrylib, alongside @PoetryDayUK.
