This year’s Creative Futures Platinum Prize for poetry has been awarded to twenty-eight-year-old Londoner, Rhiya Pau. Now in its eighth year, the award saw a 10% increase in the number of entries from unpublished writers of Black, Asian and ethnic minority backgrounds.

The Creative Future Writers’ Award is the UK’s only annual national writing competition and development programme for all underrepresented writers who traditionally lack opportunities due to mental health issues, disability, identity, health or social circumstance.
