Sunday Service: The Poetry and Songs of Adrian Mitchell

From ballads to blank verse and sonnets to slam battles, this event will explore how poetry is taken from the page and bring it to life through performance and discussion. Curated by leading poetry society Live Canon, each week offers a platform to guests from different parts of the verse world to come together and share their work in an exciting and enlightening way.

Take an energetic tour through the miraculous poetry and songs of Adrian Mitchell, performed by Pete Moser and Sasha Mitchell.

From Tell Me Lies About Vietnam to his elegiac Victor Jara and the singalong delight of Bad Friday and Marie Lloyd, the show is a collection of just a few of his most popular and loved writings. Both Sasha and Pete toured the UK with Adrian on a number of occasions from 1984 until his death in 2008.
