SLIPOFF

A spoken word festival with poetry, comedy and music performed on two stages. 

Headline Poets: Richard Scott, Hannah Lowe, Jane Yeh, Gboyega Odubanjo and Jeremy Reed. 

Also featuring: 

Comedy from Barbara Brownskirt - the self-appointed poet laureate of the Penge Bus Stop. 

Poet Stoddart 'Chip' Martin reciting his masterwork 'Eagle' accompanied by electro-acoustic, Nordic-noir soundscapes by Brudini. 

Barney Ashton of the hybrid poetry / musical theatre collective 'Andy Bell is Torsten' reciting verse and singing from the trilogy of 'Torsten' albums that depict the semi-immortal life of a forlorn sensualist. 

The headline music act is West End legend Peter Straker who, as a foremost interpreter of the Jacques Brel songbook, sings some of his more poetic works. 

Plus, the creme of London’s live poetry scene : Gboyega Odubanjo, Warren Czapa, Sophie Milner, Mark Chamberlain, Lady Poe, Angus Strachan, Ms. Greenwash, Oliver Jones, Lucy Lyrical, Jennifer Nadal, Michael Dench, Conrad Gamble, Sophie de Beistegui, Heather Moulson and performance poet Dino Mahoney.

 
Food and drink available in South London's hidden natural paradise, an urban forest known as the Devonshire Road Nature Reserve.
