The Sad Disco

Club 45 at Blackfriars of Bell Street is hosting an alternative club night on the theme of broken hearts, longing, and the fullness of emotions. There will be a DJ set by Lady Lake and poetry performances from ACE V!S!ON, Demi Anter, Annie Brechin, Ross Wilcock, and Dr Carly Brown.

Attendees interested in contributing to the playlist on the night are welcome to submit their song requests after purchasing a ticket.

ACE V!S!ON is a Glasgow-based poet, writer and playwright. They have shared their work at Edinburgh International Festival and Fringe, and is currently a recipient of Counterflows Music Space 2023-24. 

Demi Anter is a writer, actor, and spoken word artist based in London. Her appearances include Glastonbury Festival, the Scottish Storytelling Centre and Poetry Ireland. She is the author of 'Small Machine' (Write Bloody UK). 

Annie Brechin is a Bi poet based Edinburgh, Scotland. Their work has been published in Magma, Poetry Wales, Stand, B O D Y, Ink Sweat & Tears, Paris Lit Up, and others. They are the author of 'The Mouth of Eulalie' (Blue Diode). 

Ross Wilcock is a Glasgow based poet and writer. Ross' work has been featured across the UK, including Glasgow, Edinburgh, and Leeds. 

Dr Carly Brown is a poet and fiction writer originally from Austin, Texas and now living in Edinburgh. She is the author of a bestselling children’s picture book, I Love St Andrews, and two poetry pamphlets.
