Rhymewave - Poetry Workshops

Are you a page poet looking to improve your performance skills? Or a performance poet wishing to hone your writing craft? These free workshops led by Ian McLachlan at Wembley Library aim to bring page and performance poets together to learn from each other.

In each session participants will be encouraged to read and write on a particular theme, and then perform the work produced to an ‘X Factor’ panel of peers. Performances will be filmed and then reviewed by the whole group.

Ian McLachlan has had more than fifty poems published in journals, magazines and anthologies. His film noir version of Catullus’ poem 51 was displayed at Covent Garden’s Poetry Café, his pamphlet Confronting the Danger of Art formed part of an exhibition at The British Library. He has recently performed at tanthem’s La Nuit de l’Art and Cranleigh Literary Festival.
