Poetry in the Library with Kandace Siobhan Walker and Hasti

Lewisham Libraries is hosting the third instalment of 'Poetry in the Library', a poetry reading series followed by an audience Q&A. This event will take place in the bar at the Broadway Theatre as part of the SEEN Festival of Global Majority Artists.

This instalment's featured poets will be Kandace Siobhan Walker and Hasti.

Kandace Siobhan Walker is a writer and artist of Jamaican-Canadian, Saltwater Geechee and Welsh heritage. She is the author of Cowboy (CHEERIO, 2023), shortlisted for the Felix Dennis Prize for Best First Collection, and Kaleido (Bad Betty Press, 2022). Her writing has been published by the Guardian, The White Review and the Poetry Review, among others. 

Hasti is a poet and writer living in South East London. A member of the inaugural Southbank New Poets Collective and Ledbury Poetry Critics, they are the recipient of the 2023 White Review Poet's Prize and the 2022 Queen Mary Wasafiri New Writing Prize for Poetry. Hasti hosts open mic and poetry night Fresh Lip, and its sister show for Montez Press Radio, Fresh Air.
