ONLINE: Spring Poetry Translation Workshops Season

The Poetry Translation Centre is hosting a series of online workshops exploring poems and poetics in different languages.

Each collaborative poetry translation workshop will bring together a guest-translator and a poet-facilitator to open up the translation process and explore a poem from Asia, Africa, the Middle East, or Latin America. Participants of all levels and experiences (writing and translating) are welcome to attend, and there is no need to have prior knowledge in the language being translated to be able to attend.

Featured translators include Alireza Abiz translating Persian poet Farzaneh Ghavami, Christina Ng translating Chinese poetry by Dan Ying, Ibrahim Hirsi translatinh new Somali poetry, and Jon Herring translating Spanish poetry from Argentina.

These sessions will be facilitated by poet facilitators Leo Boix and Kọ́lá Túbọ̀sún.
