Experimenting with Form: online course
This 12 week course will take a playful journey through some of the most interesting forms in English poetry. Topics include the modern sonnet, tanka and haiku, the ghazal, sestina, villanelle, terza rima, visual and concrete poetry, epistolatory poems, iambic pentameter and rhyme royal.
Each week students will receive a tutorial via email, illustrated with video and audio clips. There will be a number of quick tasks to complete and then a main writing task which can be sent to Live Canon for written feedback. There will also be an online discussion forum for the group to share work and discuss tasks.
