Cheltenham Poetry Festival: Don Paterson & David Punter

The well-known poet Don Paterson reads from 'The Arctic', his new Faber collection in which several apocalypse survivors visit a bar of that name. The work includes elegies for the poet's musician father; tales of the lovelives of gods and the childhoods of psychopaths; troubled encounters between men and women; odes to movies and the male anatomy; studies of art and ambition, politics and parenthood.

Don is joined by fellow poet David Punter, the author of nine poetry pamphlets and collections, the most recent being 'Ship’s Log' (Bristol Books, 2022), a book built around excerpts from the records of the SS Great Britain.
