StoryTown 2020 Poetry Competition

Win the chance to read your poem on the radio, plus book token prizes.

StoryTown Corsham is an annual celebration of reading, writing and storytelling. Corsham is famous for its peacocks, which are often found strutting along the town’s cobbled pavements, gathering on roof tops or admiring themselves in shop windows. Meanwhile, their symbolism – everything from vanity to immortality – spreads its feathers far beyond the town, across many cultures of the world.

So, the StoryTown 2020 Poetry Competition is inviting poem on the theme of peacocks.

There are three age categories: Under 11s, 11-17 and 18 and over

The winner in all three age categories will be invited to read their poem on The Poetry Place poetry magazine programme on West Wilts Radio. They will also each win a £20 book token.
One runner up in each category will receive a £10 book token.

The judge is poet and broadcaster Dawn Gorman, who will read all the entries.
