Parkinson's Art Charity Poetry Competition

Parkinson’s Art announce their latest charity poetry competition - Poetry in performance. This will complement their international art exhibition around the theme 'Vivid Dreams' in August and support Parkinson’s research.

They are looking for innovative, original poetry which is brought alive through being heard. They want to hear the nuances and the musicality of the work.

Using the same theme as the exhibition, 'Vivid Dreams', entries need to include the poem in written form alongside a recording of the poet reading the poem (or their appointed reader in case of speech problems). The poem should be no longer than 30 lines and should relate to the theme in some way but can be a loose interpretation and does not require that same title.

Prizes:
The top three winners in each category will have their poem and film feature in the exhibition.
The winner in each category will also win a cash prize equal to 50% of the ticket sales. The remaining 50% will go towards finding a cure for Parkinson’s Disease.

Judges:
Jan Sargeant
Fiona Berry
Jennifer Yates
