East Riding Festival of Words Poetry Competition 2021
The East Riding Festival of Words poetry competition is now open for entries. This year's theme is "My reasons to be cheerful" - because we all need something to be cheerful about at the moment! Poems should be no more than 45 lines, on one side of A4 paper.
Entries are being judged by a panel of Yorkshire poets, led by James Nash.

Collection HQ prize £500
East Riding Gold prize £200
East Riding Silver prize £150
2x Highly Commended £25 each
Primary school age children (4-10 years old)
1st prize - £75
2nd prize - £50
2 x Highly Commended - £25 each
Secondary school age children (11-16 years old)
1st prize - £75
2nd prize - £50
2 x Highly Commended - £25 each
There is also a £100 voucher prize for prison inmates.
Winners will be invited to read their poems at a special event and there will be a prize giving ceremony at North Bridlington Library, Bridlington, East Riding of Yorkshire on Saturday 29 January 2022.
