Workshop

Writing Your Fire

Join Forward Prize-shortlisted poet Shivanee Ramlochan for an evening of developing your poetry with ferocity.

In this special one-off workshop, you will develop your practice through reading, discussion and feedback on your poetry. There will be some reading of contemporary Caribbean poets including Danielle Boodoo-Fortuné, Tiphanie Yanique and Dionne Brand. You will have an opportunity to read and develop your poems with feedback from Shivanee.

This workshop is suitable for poets of all levels. The key requirement is that you bring 2 poems with you that you’d like to develop during the workshop.

Shivanee Ramlochan is a Trinidadian poet, arts reporter, blogger and part of the team that runs the annual Bocas Lit Fest. Her debut collection Everyone Knows I Am a Haunting is shortlisted for The Felix Dennis Prize for Best First Collection.
