Writing the Classics (online course)
An online workshop exploring how poets have engaged with the literature and mythology of ancient Greece and Rome.
This workshop will discuss the wide range of poetry in the English language responding to classical literature and encourage participants to write 12 new poems of their own. The course will be led by Dr Helen Eastman, Live Canon's director and classicist.
Dr Eastman is former producer of the Onassis Programme, director of the Cambridge Greek play (in ancient Greek), associate artist and advisory board for the APGRD within the Classics Faculty at Oxford University and has written widely on the reception of ancient literature in later poetry and theatre.
