Keep the Home Fires Burning
Hear First World War poetry and music on Armistice Day.
There will be a clarinet recital alongside poetry about the First World War. Music of the period will be played with poems being weaved between them to create one continuous performance.
Much of the programme consists of poetry written by poets who served in The Great War, including Siegfried Sassoon, Rupert Brooke, John Mcrae, Wilfred Owen and Isaac Rosenberg. The music, made famous at the time, features a range of composers including Ivor Novello, Jerome Kern and Irving Berlin.
