Connections: Eco-Poetry Course

This six-week course starts with a Saturday walking safari led by one of Knepp Wildland’s expert ecologists, followed by five weeks' worth of inspiring writing workshops - both indoors and out.

As well as the safari, the first day includes lunch, readings, discussions, writing and an overview of the course.

The course then continues with weekly Wednesday evening meetings (6 – 9pm), hosted by poets Kay Syrad and Clare Whistler.

Since early 2018, Kay Syrad and Clare Whistler have led eco-poetry courses at Brighton's ONCA arts centre, Aldeburgh Poetry Festival and Rye Harbour Nature Reserve. Their eco-poetry series Changing Everything Carefully* is based on an international range of poetry and creative ideas about how to reckon with the current eco-challenges that face us all.
