Blue Black Permanent Screening

The Poetry Society presents a screening of Margaret Tait‘s haunting film Blue Black Permanent (1992) which was the first Scottish feature film directed by a woman.

The screening will be introduced by So Mayer, to tie in with their essay ‘Margaret Tait’s disappearing trick’ in the Autumn 2019 issue of The Poetry Review.

So Mayer is a writer, bookseller and activist. Their most recent books are the chapbooks <jacked a kaddish> (Litmus, 2019) and Tender Questions (with Preti Taneja, Peninsula, 2019), and critical study Political Animals: The New Feminist Cinema (IB Tauris, 2015). They are a regular contributor to Sight & Sound and The Poetry Review, including an essay on Margaret Tait’s poetry.
